Feature request: filament left on roll

I am new to pritinting and still run my first roll of PLA - printing bigger and more time consuming things as I go along.
The question I'd like to see answered by the software is "Is there enough filament left on the roll for the print at hand ?"

My expectation would not be on the milimeter, but a fair warning that I might not have enough filament would be awesome. Of course the user would have to enter the size of the currently used roll, but that would only happen upon roll switch and could be an optional feature anyways.

I do not see this on the top of your priority list (not even close) but I though it would come in handy.

For the time being: How do you solve this ? (I mean is there an alternative to guessing from what you see or just hope there is enogh)

If you open up the g-code file the last line will tell you how many mm of filament it will need.

As a ref there are 25.4 mm to an inch.

Example if it says it needs 2000 mm of filament
it woulbe be 2000 divided by 25.4 = or 78.74 inches of filament.

It does !! Now I just have to measure a full revolvement and then I can "count" the strings to see if enough fil is left.
