only use manual support?

Hi, I am attempting to specify manual support for certain objects and would like to prevent automatic support structure generation for all other objects. Can't seem to do this.

I manually created supports for 1 of my objects and when I prepare for print it is automatically generating supports for the other objects, in which I don't want support for.

In process > support settings, it would seem that the "automatic placement" section indicates that this shouldn't happen when using manual supports.

So, what am I missing here?

Thanks

Re: only use manual support?

If you only define manual support for one of your models, but you have support generation enabled for all of them, the others will get automatic support.

If you want some models to have support generation enabled, and others to have no support, the create 2 processes. Use the "select models" button at the bottom so that the process with support generation enabled only applies to models that need support. Then disable support generation for the other process and use it for the remaining models.

Re: only use manual support?

If you set your support pillar resolution to 99.9 then it'll be very unusual if automatic support will be generated. That way, you can leave support switched on....and then add manual support where you need it. You'll have to wind down the resolution in the manual support window, though....not that much of a hardship, though.
