xyzprinting da vinici 2.0a Duo extruder temperature

Hi guys,
New to 3d printing and Just recently got a used Da Vinci 2.0a Duo 3d printer with stock firmware. Downloaded Simplify3d without even trying xyzware. Have had a number of relatively successful prints, but....

When I set the extruder temperature in the FFF settings for a print, the printer does not aim for my given target temperature and instead defaults to 213C ever time for every print. I have no idea why the printer is not printing at my given temperature and is instead (as far as I assume) printing for the type of cartridge that is loaded in the printer (ABS I think), even though I am printing with 3rd party PLA.

What's going on? Why cant I set the temperature through Simplify3D??

Does it switch to the new temperature later on in the print? For example, if you keep watching it, what temperature does it go to at layer 2, 3, 4, 5?

I think the firmware on those machines force it to start at a specific temp, but it can be changed after the startup routine

See that's what I assumed at first because maybe the firmware has it's own startup settings and hence uses some preset preheating temperature, but unfortunately the temperature doesn't change at all throughout the rest of the print. I watched.

Also BOTH heads heat up to this temperature despite setting the non used extruder to only 33C. So clearly it's not listening.

And what's even more confusing is that when I did my very first prints I THINK that the temperature was changing accordingly but now it doesn't. No idea what could have changed since....outside the fact that I did many load/unload filament using the utilities option directly on the printer.

Had the same problem.
I think it takes the temp from the chip.
Got a solution from the support (within 8 hours, thumbs up)
In advanced setting go to the "Scripts" tab, select the "Layer Change Script" and enter

M104 S225 T0 (225 being the temp you want on the right extruder T0) or/and
M104 S225 T1 (the same for the left extruder T1)
if you put both, both will be heated during the entire print.

It heats up to both extruders to around 210-215, (probably a fixed routine for the printer)
pause a bit, and then just before printing, heats up to the set temp for the one extruder or both, you have chosen (it is entered in the script).
I think it happens when starting on the gcode.

On the Davinci 2.0a there is an advantage using S3D,
when using the left extruder the chip is not counting down.
So I just use that extruder with a normal 1 kg spool on the side of the printer, and an empty cartridge inside the printer.
The display telling me that there is 240 meters left all the time.

THANK YOU! The layer script definitely worked in allowing me to change the temperature. Now the right extruder (non-used one) falls to ambient while the left extruder hits closer to the target...though for some reason it's leveling off at 205C instead of the 200C I had entered but at least now I know I can manually control the temperature and will try to manually offset if it consistently hits 5C higher than it should.
