Unnecessary raft size?

Hello everyone,
I am really new to S3D so please don yell if this is something obvious.

I am trying to print the following part and I can se the unnecessary big raft. Cura slices the same file with a patch on the base and a patch on the support. The unused raft is calculated to about 15g of unused material. Is there any way to "delete" it?

I would use a brim instead. That is much quicker and saves a lot of plastic. It will just loop around the bottom structure instead of underneath the entire thing.

Thank you for the answer andrew,

I know the function of a brim its just that sometimes i would like to get the finish of a raft underneath.
