TAZ 5 restarting with simplify3d

Hello,

I recently switched from CURA to simplify3d and over the last day my printer has been randomly restarting while using simplify3d. Usually 5-20 minutes into the print. The LCD on the TAZ 5 will reboot and show the startup screen, and then the printer will start moving again. However it does not resume the print. It moves the nozzle in a diagonal direction toward the back right corner of the build plate. The first time this happened I let it go to see what would happen and it hit the limit of how far it could go and started making this clicking noise. Ever since this I have immediately powered off the machine when this happens and it stops the nozzle along this diagonal path off the print surface. I am very frustrated by this and have never had this problem with cura. I have tried to print the same objects on cura during this time it has been having problems and they print just fine with no issues. If any settings are needed to help diagnose my problem please let me know.

Re: TAZ 5 restarting with simplify3d

I can't imagine the software would be doing anything to cause this. Much more likely would be a bad power supply or some loose wiring that is causing the board to randomly reset. I would check those things first.

You can also look in the machine control panel to see all of the commands that were sent from the software right before the restart happened. If you don't see anything odd, that's another reason to suspect it may be hardware/electronics related instead.
