software-based flow control (3.1)

The 3.1 release notes specify "New firmware configuration option for using software-based flow control" ..
Where is it ? WHAT is it ?

PS the release notes could be a bit more detailed.... Many items are quite cryptic. It would be useful to detail how a "improved" function differs from the old one, what a user can expect to happen differently....

It is on the "Tools, Firmware Configuration" panel. There is a "Flow Control" drop-down list there.

Previous version had "No Flow Control" and "Hardware Flow Control (RTS/CTS)" options.

Version 3.1 adds the option for "Software Flow Control (XON/XOFF)".

If your particular firmware supports Xon/Xoff flow control, this option may be of interest. Otherwise, probably not.

Re: software-based flow control (3.1)

Hi,
This might be a simple issue.
How do I save the flow control setting so it will default to Hardware Flow control? Right now it defaults to no flow control. And I am getting frustrated that I have to keep resetting flow control to Hardware every time I go to print.

Thanks,
John
