Flaky manual support

I am trying to add a manual support for a large horizontal holes but it generates unexpected results. For example, the attached factory file has 4 manual support pillars but when I slice the model the output gcode contains only two of them.

Any suggestion?

Re: Flaky manual support

Up the support infill to 25%. You have it currently at 10%.

This did the trick. Thanks.

This is a bug IMO. Support infill should not affect the perimeter of the infill posts, just the internal. In this case the low infill reduced the perimeter and for some posts even eliminated it completely.

Re: Flaky manual support

Support is purely infill, there's no perimeter on it. If you tell it to print only 10% infill and a single line would fill a pillar 30%, should it overfill or underfill? Simplify3D appears to have chosen not to overfill, which makes sense to me.

See the thread I've started in General Discussions & Tips on the subject of supports: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6200

Hopefully the discussion in this thread will be made clearer......
