K8400 unable to connect to PC

I tried to connect my printer directly to the PC to use the tools in Simplify3d. No connection is established, but the printer is frozen during printing. I've tested all the baudrates, but without success. With Repetierhost, the K8400 is easy to connect and control. What am I doing wrong?

The problem has solved itself. I connected the printer to the PC before I started Simplify 3d. The program was connected at start up and the control functioned.
