Gaps in meshmixer support -Fix Horrible

So after creating meshmixer support and then exporting as a new stl, there are gaps when I slice the model.

Cura does the same thing until I use "Fix horrible", "type-A combine everything"; but I can't find the equivalent options in s3d, I tied Heal and Merge in Slicing behaviour, which sometimes works for non manifold models. I also tried to repair the model in meshmixer and in netfabb, but was not able to improve this. What else can I try here? I have had similar cases before, so if there is something I can do in S3D that works like Cura I would love to learn it for future reference.

Re: Gaps in meshmixer support -Fix Horrible

Thanks for the response, that looks like exactly the behaviour, and it did indeed split the model up, but I tried to slice the result and it gave the same outcome. I tried flipping the heal option on and off as well.

When I now use Identify Non-manifold edges, I get multiple results, some OK, some non manifold, so I guess that is why I still have an issue. Is there a way inside S3D to deal with non manifold objects? I can detect them, but then what, I need to repair in netfabb or meshmixer?

Thanks,
Greg

And now the relevant screengrabs...

You need to make it a valid 3D solid first. It looks like it has a bunch of gaps and holes in it right now where the different cylinders connect. So you can try to repair it with one of the free online repair services if you want (makeprintable, netfabb, etc)

Just to follow up with the solution I used... if I used the "Convert to Solid" in the Meshmixer support generator before exporting as stl this worked. Thanks to all for the responses.
