Settings not saved until program closed

Hi guys,
S3D does not save any of my settings until I close the program. This means that I can spend hours tweaking my processes, add quality presets, update printer profiles, etc, and if I do not exit S3D all these changes will be gone. That means any crash / BSOD = hours of tweaking lost. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this by design? It would be awesome if S3D save settings as soon as I hit 'update printer profile'.

Re: Settings not saved until program closed

It seems that you are right, S3D doesn't store the settings only with closing the settings window.

I have test it with my laptop which is only running when connected to the 240 V-AC. When I pull out the connector, the laptop crashs instandly.

S3D opened, changing the value of the nozzle from 0.40 to 0.43. Closing the setting window and reopening it, show this new value. After closing this window again, I pull out the 240V-connector and restart after this the laptop. The value for the nozzle is back to the 0.40 mm.

In tools > options the Save and Store-box is checked ON.

If you have trouble as I have, close the program time to time as I do it. For me it happens 1 time the week or 5 times this morning. Even a backup-battery from my desktop doesn't help. I fear that only a new one would help.

Yep, I've learned now to restart S3D after making significant changes to my processes, but I've lost many hours of progress tweaking settings in the beginning and will surely lose more in the future from unforeseen crashes/BSODs. IMHO, this is a serious design flaw and, hopefully, the devs change it so settings are flushed to disk as soon as the process settings dialog is closed or the 'update printer profile' button is hit.

yes, and it would be no luxury and no expense for the developement to implement such a function .

I'm using ViaCAD and there I can store automaticily however I want: (x)-sec, (x)-minutes, (x)-drawing-actions or even when only closing the program.

If you want to make it easier, than save the factory-file. There is a standard-way into the S3D-folder, but I prefer the folder of my design / model. therefore I must choice 1x the whole way but after this it is nearly automaticily , only 2 mouse-clicks.

If something happens it needs only to Open Factory-File in the File-Menue.
