Cant align two parts for dual extrusion printing

I have two cylindrical bodies to print on a Taz 5 FlexyDually. I've attached the STL files if anyone is interested in trying it for themselves.

In Fusion360 it looks like this (the blue highlight is the "wheel-support" model).

I realise I could just have Simplify3D figure out the supports, but this is just a test of my ability to use a model file for the support (HIPS filament).

Re: Cant align two parts for dual extrusion printing

(Continuing my post because the forum wouldn't let me upload these screenshots on the first post)

I can't find a way in Simplify3D to align them so their vertical axes are aligned.

Importing each model and rotating X 270 degrees gives this layout.

And then the dual extrusion wizard groups and aligns them, but they're not concentric :(

If I have understood it right, you want to use a separated support construction.

Why that??? S3D is always able to create its own formidable support without any problem for your construction.

Otherwise turn the objects in Fusion in a right way so that they are coming up as printed. Check ON the option > >> Tools > Model > Auto Arrange ...

Re: Cant align two parts for dual extrusion printing

Right after you import them both, double click on each one and choose "Reset Position". Then the 2 parts will be centered correctly and you can select them both and then group them together. Then they will move and rotate together, without moving relative to one another.

This worked well!

That position reset put them at the bed origin with their axes aligned.. basically as they were originally created in Fusion360. I could then rotate X and get them back to the middle and sitting on the surface correctly.
