Jog Controls extrusion feed rate

Hi Simplify3d,

Can you please reduce the default extrusion feed rate used in the jog controls menu from 240 mm per second to below firmware default maximums (25 mm per second)?

When using S3d to extrude 100mm and calibrate steps per mm, the extrusion rate 240 is overridden by the firmware maximum of 25 and as a result a request for 100mm of filament results in 75 or 80 mm. This causes nasty errors when trying to calibrate correctly.

Would be even better if you could read the max extrusion feed rate from the firmware and use that value in the jog controls menu. I don't know if there is a commonly implemented g-code command for that or not though.

The default jog speeds are in millimeters per MINUTE. So 240mm/min is the same as 4mm/s.

So I do not think the speed is your problem. If it's extruding less plastic, then it's probably because of oozing or filament slippage.

While I made an error of min compared to seconds as a measure unit, the request remains the same.
240mm/min is too high as a default. 120 is a much more reasonable and realistic number to not cause skips or slips.
