I have a 3d printer that says it can print with ABS, but the table heat will not go above 75c and I am told it needs to go to 110c. I am making a light switch plate that has raised letters. It always results in warping mid-print and I have to cancel it. I have also used utra-hold hairspray as adhesive before I start printing in ABS, but it doesn't work.
I would like to switch from my black PLA filament to my glow-in-the-dark green ABS filament when the printer gets to the point where it is printing the raised-letter portion of the part. At that stage of the print, I don't think table temperature would matter since it is several layers high by then and the light switch plate surface is solid. What are your thoughts on the ABS adhering to the PLA material? How can I search the gcode to see when it is starting the raised letter portion of the print? I was thinking I could add some gcode at that point to stop the print and present the table forward to me as a sign it is ready to change the filament to ABS, then change the temp setting for the extruder in the gcode to the higher ABS temp and wait til it reaches that temp before proceeding.
Any ideas/thoughts on this would be appreciated.
