connection error S3D login to software

Hello,
My name is Graham. I'm new here.
I have downloaded S3D and installed onto my laptop, but i can not get past the login screen (login to the S3D software). It always says 'connection error'. This is not when trying to connect to printer, this is login connection.
I have been corresponding with support for 5 days and I still can not access the prorgam. I use wifi hotspot for internet but have also tried a Lan cable. Internet works fine either way. I have also tried turning off Kaspersky, windows firewall and defender in case they were blocking S3D. I have allowed S3D in Kaspersky. Support thinks Kaspersky may be blocking the login, but I dont think it would if it is disabled. I do not get any pop-ups ansking to allow the connection.
My laptop is a qosmio G50 with vista ultimate.
I use default network settings on the login screen. There is an option for 'manual network configuration' but I do not know what IP and post it needs to use this setting.
Please help if you can.

It sounds like you have quite a few anti-vius software's going, any one of those could be blocking the traffic Simplify3D uses for connecting to their cloud. It's also important that you are on an Administrator level account and that your computer clock is correct (not off by days/months/years).

so you were able to go on their website, make an account, log in there and download the software but when you install and run it for the first time it cant connect?

Keyboard warrior, support have advised me to close all tasks related to kaspersky, defender and windows firewall in task manager. I will also check date and time but I think they are correct. I am in Australia so I think I have time set at +10 GMT also. I use an admin account.

Problem solved :)
I turned off Kaspersky , defender, windows firewall, user account control and tried to disable onecare (using cmd prompt). I also turned off anything in task manager that didn't look necessary (apple, epson, google etc).
And finally I was able to login :)
At one point, a message saying something like 'unknown program....blocked by user account control'. This was the first blocking message I have seen and is why I turned off the user account control.
I have screenshots of task manager if anyone need them.

Hi

I'm facing this same issue just after installing Simplify3D for the first time (4.0.0). However, in my case, this cannot be due to Kapersky, defender nor any similar antivirus bullshit as I'm running it on KUbuntu 17.04. Firewall never been activated (sudo ufw status replies "status : inactive").

No matter I hit my real ident or dummy ones, I'm still getting stuck with a connection error message.

Does anyone has any idea ?

I got the same problem. I bought S3D 4.0 and I'm not able to connect. Always a Connection Error.
I'm on a Mac and switched of every firewall, but nothing worked.

Any idea?

I'm having the same error on my Mac OS. I don't see that the last three posts got a reply - was Support able to help you out???

Same here, just purchased downloaded and installed but click login and I see red Connection Error Message and nothing else. All other connections working fine
