confusion over speed

First time user of this software, and I am a bit confused.
If I have a Process that I want to slow down the default printing speed for the entire print, it is just a matter of changing the default printing speed in mm/min? or must I also make some changes to anything related to extruder (for example to slow down the rate that the extruder is pushing out filament)?

sorry for such a basic question. One print I am making with PLA is failing at a certain point and I would like to go slower to avoid the issue.

thank you

Re: confusion over speed

S3D is nice in that everything is based on the default speed. So you just decrease that one value and it will slow everything down.

thank you for your reply. yes, I am finding it to be a very amazing tool. The learning curve is a bit rough for newbie like me, but I can appreciate its strength and ease.
