Sample Factory Files

Hello, New user here. I am having some basic problems with files. I am unable to load a factory file. My computer seems to think they are adobe reader files. When I try to tell it to open the factory file with S3D, it does not allow. I have only one factory file currently to test with. Where can I find others (I have searched) so I can see if the problem is with the file I have or something else. Just checked, also will not import .stl files. ??
Any help appreciated,
Thanks!!

Re: Sample Factory Files

I've seen this happen with other things before (though i've seen it with all programs, not just a certain type). Basically, what can happen is your file association registry entry gets corrupted. Windows will then just use the first entry in the list, which is almost always adobe reader. This may help: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... a69d8794f2

Re: Sample Factory Files

I don't know that S3D associates .factory files in the registry at all. If it doesn't, it should. (read: FEATURE REQUEST!)

On Linux Mint (as my machine is currently set up AT THIS TIME, it's slightly more bizarre --- if I double-click a .gcode, .g or .fff file, it opens in GEDIT; and if I double-click a .factory file, it opens in WINE Notepad. Probably because that's what I selected in the "Open with..." window when I tried. I'd like to see S3D register the following file types to do these actions when you double-click them to open:

.factory Open file in normal Workspace view
.g and .gcode Open and parse to display in Preview view

No idea what it should do with .fff files. Probably best to leave this for the default text editor.
