Multiple Heated Bed Temperature Controllers

Hello,

I have a 5-zone heated bed (four quadrants plus perimeter heat) running with a Duet+Duex5, which supports multiple bed heater outputs as of the latest firmware release.

I found a reference to someone saying Simplify3D supports multiple bed heaters (https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6976), but that doesn't seem to be the case. If I attempt to add an additional temperature controller as a heated build platform I get a "Only one temperature controller can be identified as the heated build platform." error upon saving the FFF settings.

I could work around this by adding the requisite commands to the start script, but this is quite bad because those commands won't run until after the first heater zone has come up to temperature and stabilized. That means a single heater needs to fight against the thermal mass of the whole build plate before the other heaters are ever woken up, so it may not get up to temperature at all. The only solution I know is to manually turn everything on and wait for it to stabilize before starting the print.

Is there a way to get Simplify3D to control multiple bed heaters? If not, I'll be over to the Feature Requests forum next.

Re: Multiple Heated Bed Temperature Controllers

P.S.

A better workaround than what I described is to remove the default heated bed controller from the settings altogether and turn all the zones on in the start script. Still not fantastic but at least then the whole bed comes on at once.
