So i just got simplify 3d and a monoprice maker select plus, and for some weird reason when connected via usb, the x axis just refuses to home after a print. all the other axis will home as they are supposed to, but the x axis just moves to the right a few centimeters (to home it needs to go left) and then zeros the x axis wherever its sitting. The ever weirder thing is that even if i say to home the axis on the machine (while plugged in after a print) it just does the same thing. to fix it sometimes i can just push the x axis to the switch is almost touching the stopper, but other times i have to unplug the printer from my computer and restart it. Its not a huge deal but if im doing multiple prints and i forget to go through the above steps, then it just goes all the way to the right and starts hopping the belt which can't be good for any of the parts involved (not to mention its really loud and makes me jump sometimes.)
So anyways, to recap after a print over usb simplify 3d breaks the homing on the x axis until i reset the printer and help it get close by hand (oh ya, it won't let me jog the x axis either) or else it just zeros the x axis wherever it sits.
also i never had these problems with cura or over the sd and while this is my first personal printer, i have some experience with my school's, although they were makerbots and some old(er) airwolf 3d HDX2's that needed to be scrapped.
