.makerbot files not compatible with the new MakerBot Print?

Hey everyone.

I used to be able to prepare print to a .makerbot file and then print from file using MakerBot Desktop.

But since they discontinued the MakerBot Desktop software and replaced it with MakerBot Print.
I get this error. Is there a compatibility error? I never changed any setting in S3D.
I even reinstalled MakerBot desktop and the .makerbot file still works with MakerBot Desktop.
I just want to be able to use their latest desktop software.

Any thoughts?

Re: .makerbot files not compatible with the new MakerBot Pri

I have the same issue
Files sliced with S3D 4.0 does not work with "Print" 2.6.0.5261
They are fine with "Desktop" 3.10.0.1364

Maybe something like the following should be in the meta,json :

{
"bot_type": "replicator_5",
"chamber_temperature": 0,
"duration_s": 43317.4,
"extruder_temperature": 210,
***snip

Can confirm,
adding "bot_type": "replicator_5", to the meta.json file allows MakerBot Print to print S3D 4.0 files on my 5th gen replicator.
Haven't found a nice convenient way to add without unzip/edit/zip

Re: .makerbot files not compatible with the new MakerBot Print?

Hi poobah, thanks for figuring this out. I'm a new user and just installed 4.0.1 and found that I got the toolpath error when using mb print to send a .makerbot file that I made in s3d.

The problem now is that I can't find the meta.json file you say you've unzipped/edited/rezipped with the added gen5 line.

I'm on a windows 7 machine and am still searching.

Thanks if you have a minute to help.
