What a waste of Filament
Not to mention doubles the chance of your entire print malfunctioning
Foe a Dual Extruder head, what it needs to do is lift off the bed, go over somewhere like X255 y255 Z100
and do an Extruder Dump
then go back to the bed, do a Wipe, and continue on
(Even better, imagine a Head Wiping Addon)
Imagine the time saving
Imagine the more sharp color change
Can this be Scripted???
Where do I start???
The whole thing needs new thinking its crazy

It could be scripted I'd imagine yes, there's a good reason it's not default though - because for many printers and prints it would knock the print off the bed with the nozzle or x-axis arms.
