After installing 4.1.2

I have just installed ver 4.1.2 and after installing, I click to run it and it will not come up except for asking my pass word

You have to enter the registration information?
I can't remember the exact procedure but you received an username and a password when you purchased the software.

I have all that.
I have now reinstalled 3.1.1 which works

You can install both versions at once, you are not needed to deinstall 3.1.1. (and not recommended, e.g. to avoid the strange changings with the First Layer when layer height < 100%, or the strange solution in 4.1 with brim/skirt what S3D has implemented).

To launch old versions if there is no icon on your desktop, go and double click to C.\ ... \programs\simplify _ version _ simplify.exe

This is surely not the solution for your problem but it helps for the moment. And if I remember right, I never needed the password when updating. It seems that S3D use generall informations when launching the newest or elder versions because the launch opens the actual settings (FFF) and starting window with the last import of objects. Regardless of whether you launch 3.1.1 or 4.1.2.
