Dual extruder Newbie help

OK so i am new to Simplify3d and have so far been pretty successful printing via PLA and this great program.

Today I have tried printing my first dual extruder print (The dual color cone from the tutorial). So I have followed the instructions and it starts to print, but frankly its a mess. I have tried switching on wipe and lowered the heat all to no avail.

Can you guys have a look and point me in the right direction please.

Two attempts shown. One attempt was printed at 200c with a bed ob 50C, whilst the other was at 230C and again a bed of 50C.

Of all the good prints I have had they have been with the right extruder, so i will try a single print on the left extruder only to see if that is ok.

Anyhow your thoughts please on whats wrong with these attempts.

No words of wisdom.

Maybe i am expecting too much of dual extrusion printing.

As my single extrusion prints are clean, I had the expectation that dual would be the same.

I even tried the same print using Makerbot Desktop and yes it prints but its still messy and needs significant cleaning up and sanding.

So do i need to reset my expectations as dual extrusions are messy and not clean like I expected?

Search purge walls (or wiper walls).

Depending on your printer (makerbot clones etc) you may be able to use something else to slice with.

In short, next version of S3D is supposed to address dual extrusion. For now it's a pain at best with S3D and at worst messy like you've pictured.
