New Licensing

I was about to hit the checkout button on my shopping cart for the upgrade but something told me to read the forums first....
Regardless of the change of licensing model..... an upgrade is an upgrade of an existing product that was paid for and that existing product gave me the ability to run the software on 2 pc's at once which is how my setup works as I have 2 printers, each connected to it's own PC. This change of licensing makes sense for the reasons they say BUT does not make sense for users who have already paid for the 2 seats because that's what they needed. The upgrade should upgrade the existing platform including licensed product capabilities. I will not be upgrading as the cost to get both my PC's printing at the same time is no longer worth it. Taking away licensing capabilities is not what an upgrade is.... Previous owners should get a 2 seat floating license as the upgrade since they paid for 2 seat's originally.
Unless this changes, I will be sticking to v4 until it is no longer useful. Very disappointed in this development after waiting such a long time for this new version.

Re: New Licensing

You are receiving this email because you own a Simplify3D Software license.

Well I was also looking forward to updating my Paid for License of Simplify3d to V5 :o
Like upgrading to 4.12 there wasn't a charge
But to get to step 3 at checkout to pay for another License is ridiculous. :(
I too thought an Upgrade is an Upgrade and NOT a different Product which is how it comes across.

Please Simplify3D make this Clear to existing License holders when your emailing them,
that it's not an Upgrade, but it's a New Product that requires paying for.

Re: New Licensing

I agree, 2 seats floating license is a MUST, at least for old customer that upgrade.
I hope this will be fixed automatically or I'll ask for refund, as there wasn't any statement on the upgrade page.
I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Re: New Licensing

I'm very unhappy about the new licensing.
My Mac and my laptop should work with one license.
If no more than two devices would be an option it'll be great.

So S3D plese upgrade licenses from existing customers to two devices - and maybe the others, too.

But for the existing customers which waited so long with less updates that would be a great christmas present :)
