Object scaling issue when restarting S3D

There is a consistent issue with S3D with object scaling after S3D is restarted. Following are the simple steps to reproduce the issue:

-Import an STL file.
-Scale using the object properties panel (for example 1.5 original size with uniform scaling option set). Object is scaled properly. Closing the properties panel and reopening it will properly show the 1.5 scaling parameter still in effect.
-Exit S3D and restart the program
-Object is reloaded as part of the autosave
-Looking at the object properties it now shows a scale of 1.0 but the dimensions are at the 1.5 size.
-Seeing the scaling of 1.0 (not realizing the bug or intentional 'feature') the user would set the scaling again to 1.5 and wind up with the wrong size object.

I would expect the scaling to show the original parameter (in this case 1.5) after S3D is restarted.

Thank you,
Steve

Re: Object scaling issue when restarting S3D

It's a misunderstanding of what is happening. You scaled the model and the actual size changed. When you closed the program the model saved with the program (not separately) and when you load back up 1.0x is the now the new size. If you delete the model from the program then load it in from the original again then it will be back to the old size. So call it what you like, feature or bug but it's leaving the model as you last used it.

Re: Object scaling issue when restarting S3D

Yeah, but most 3D modeling programs will keep the scale until you reset the transform for the scale on the object independently. That way when you import other objects built using similar units/configuration you know what they need to be scaled to at a later date. Most 3D modeling programs have object scale and world scale which are usually independent of each other.

It would be nice if S3D would have an original object scale mode.
