[SOLVED] Extrusion Multiplier

I am having an issue where I am trying to save the extrusion multiplier setting. When I update this setting it does not let me "update profile". And when I exit the Edit Process Settings and come back it resets to 0.10 no matter what i change it to. This seems to happen after I Prepare to Print, then come back to change some settings, the Extrusion Multiplier then sets itself to 0.10 no matter what.

If I do not touch this setting it stays as is. However the CR-10 Profile comes in at 0.90. I need it at 1.00. So when I try and change it to the 1.00 and exit, then it automatically changes to the 0.10 and I cannot make any more changes.

I am using the Creality CR-X and CR-10 Profiles. And this happens to both of them.

Re: Extrusion Multiplier

I'm having the exact same problem.
The only way to get the extrusion back is to open a good factory file.
I'm having a similar issue with adjusting the support angle; if I change it from anything but the default 45 degrees, it puts support everywhere.

Re: Extrusion Multiplier

We had one customer who also reported an issue where various settings would never save. They would change the extrusion multiplier, hit OK, and then the value would always reset to 0.1. The customer did a lot of tests and eventually confirmed the issue was actually being caused by their anti-virus software (they were using Sophos). Might be worth checking if you're also running Sophos.

I can confirm that our company runs Sophos, and this isn't the first Sophos-specific bug I've experienced. A Sophos update would also be consistent with the bug appearing without updating S3D.

Jason, can you tell me where your program saves settings? I will be opening a support ticket with the IT contractor, and I need to ensure that appropriate permissions are requested. Universally whitelisting the program is not an option.

This link gives the locations of all settings and files used by the software:

I can confirm that S3D was conflicting with Sophos.
My IT department was able to give me a security exception for this particular executable on this particular workstation.
That resolved my issue with changing extrusion settings, and uncooperative support settings. I think previous security adjustments may have fixed an issue where cross section views were not staying put when I was trying to place supports.

I guess I'm set until the next S3D rev that doesn't play nice with Sophos. :|
