Y-axis layer shift

Has anyone else experienced similar Y-axis layer shifting with an Ender 3 V2 and Simplify3D? Any suggestions on what settings I should look at in Simplify3D or potential hardware issues I might have missed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Y-axis layer shift

The most likely culprit for this is the tension on the Y axis belt. Check that and see if it is loose.

Re: Y-axis layer shift

Another potential issue is the stepper motor is going bad for the Y-axis, or a part on the board that controls the Y-axis stepper motor is no longer supplying enough current. I have this problem on one of my 3D printers (Y-axis), which I need to get fixed.

When the stepper motor for the X or Y axis starts going bad, it can print some objects just fine, but certain objects with fast movement areas will start having layer shifts because the stepper motor is no longer strong enough to slow down the fast movement correctly, so it stops at the wrong location.
