How to create supports?

Hello everyone, I recently faced a frustrating issue while using the Ender 3 to print industrial parts that were scanned with MIRACO. I utilized PrusaSlicer for slicing, and while its default support feature was effective, I found that each time I attempted to remove the support, I inadvertently damaged the part. I found this quite frustrating, as the printer functioned well, but the cleaning of the support consistently impacted the final result.

Could I potentially resolve this issue by utilizing different software, like Simplify3D? I’ve heard that Simplify3D offers enhanced customization options for generating support structures. I’m curious if it can assist me in removing the support more easily without causing any damage to the part.

If any friends have had similar experiences or have suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your advice. What are some effective ways to enhance the support setup, or do you have additional cleaning tips to offer? I truly appreciate your assistance!

I eagerly await your response.

Re: How to create supports?

The S3D supports have definitely always been very good at easy separation. I've done many prints where they pop right off with minimal impact to the part.

There's also a few other settings you can tune like support separation or dense support layers which can improve things even further. Many of them are talked about here:
