I recently recommended a Monoprice to someone who has difficulty learning and solving problems.
I did a lot of research (using my 5 yrs of 3D printing experience of 3 printers, including building two from kits and hacking them).

Of course, you may have skills that beg to build/hack something... or buy something robust yet fairly simple... Just recognize that at some point, regardless of the machine, something will need attention and ability to use some tools...
