Default file location saving

It would be nice if I could have some default save locations set up so that I could choose to export gcode to a particular folder, factory files to a particular folder etc. Obviously you'd need to be able to override these. Additionally, it'd be nice on the gcode save output that maybe there'd be a nice quick option to save gcode to the same folder as the original stl or factory file.

Thanks for the idea! The software currently remembers the last place you saved certain types of files. I'm certainly happy to submit a feature request for our development team for the user to be able to specify a default folder for each rather than the current behavior.

It's a shame that this idea didn't get any legs. I get fed up with having to navigate to the models folder every single time I restart the program.

This feature is actually already available in V5! Go to Tools > Options (or Simplify3D > Preferences on Mac) and change the File Selection Behavior to "Remember a unique last used directory for each separate file type". After making that change, it will remember separate directories for where to load 3D model files vs factory files vs gcode files and so on.
