Bug- Y-Axis Flip & View Upside Down

Found a bug: I use SolidWorks which uses the y-axis as the vertical (pretty much against every convention out there = stupid). I was happy to see the S3D has the ability to correct this under: Tools > Options > Models [tab] > Y-axis is vertical [radio button]. Nice. All my models come in as designed with things built vertically from the top plane being the newly assigned pseudo z-axis. However, this does weird things on view window. When I crtl+left click to arrange an object the normal view is from the underside of the table. Everything is upside down. If I go to: Tools > Options > Machine [tab] > Machine Definition > Flip build table axis > uncheck Y [radio button] it will fix this issue. Here is the bug: If I do anything else, close/open the program, edit a process setting, anything, the flip Y radio button rechecks itself!

S3D- Can you please fix this?

OS- Windows 7 64-bit.

Thanks,

Sean

In Solidworks, sketches and features on the front plane correspond to the Z vertical axis. Try sketching and extruding a circle on the front plane and then exporting it as an .stl and you will see that Z is the vertical axis.
My guess is that you are starting your solidworks sketches on the top plane so when you export it seems as if Y is the vertical axis.

That's what I do to. Before S3D I sketched on the top plane but now I just start sketching on the front plane instead.

Re: Bug- Y-Axis Flip & View Upside Down

So... I think I fixed this.

I keep the Tools (menu) > Options > Models (tab) > y-axis is vertical (radio button) checked.

Then I need to go into any process setting that I use and go to the "G-Code" tab and made sure the build space is correct (y and z axes flipped) and I just make sure the "Flip build table axis" button for the X axis is the only one checked. I had the Y-axis checked too and that was flipping everything when I applied a process. Now my models come in right from SolidWorks correctly, and the origin/home position of my Leapfrog printer is the front left. Seems to be working fine now.

Thanks,

Sean
