Z-Axis distance

Hi,

i'm new to Simplify3D but not to the 3D printing world.

The trouble i'm having is with the distance between the bed and hotend (bed is on the Z-axis).
When printing, the bed is raised under the hotend and doesn't leave any space to extrude the plastic (in this case, ABS).
I have to raise the "first layer height" to 400% (using a layer of 0.16mm for the rest of the model) so when the print starts, the bed is at 0.64mm for the first layer.
Only then, there is little space to extrude.

With all the other slicers, I leave the setting to "same as all the other layers, that would mean a 100 % first layer).
I did try a manual z-axis placement (G1 Z0.16 F4000) and the bed goes to the right distance.

I'm I doing something wrong ? i'm a missing something in the settings ?

Thanks,

J-F

Re: Z-Axis distance

Just use the Z-axis offset on the G-Code tab. Set that to 0.4mm instead of changing the first layer height %
