Just want to start with I still think the program is awesome, and am very much so enjoying all the new features being added (especially the 64 bit availability! and great support). Keeps getting better. BUT... that being said, it seems like anything after version 1.1.0 is pretty much unusable to me so far -- was something changed after that, other than auto-checking of the G2/G3 commands??
Even with version 1.1.2 default settings, on the very first print the nozzle moved to position, stopped moving, then just extruded out tons of plastic before trying to move -- and it wasn't a small pause with a small blob. With version 1.1.1, I recall having a different odd issue where it'd blob a bunch and then retract so far the plastic couldn't be pulled back in. The mass extrusion of plastic from 1.1.2 code since seemed to have clogged my nozzle, resulting in some prints becoming very stringy or having the nozzle just stop extruding plastic mid print (I had many perfect prints before this major blob in one spot occurred.. So if anyone knows a good technique to remove and clean the nozzle without messing up the thermocouple that's taped on -- please let me know).
What I've tried to so far:
-Turning off G2/G3, leaving arc compensation enabled. This results in the above HUGE blob and messing up of my hot end.
-Turning off the relative extrusion distances -- when printing from the SD card, this results in the nozzle moving to position, then it just freezes and doesn't move until you reboot.
-Saving the factor file from version 1.1.2 (or 1.1.1) and opening it in 1.1.0 and re-slicing (with the EXACT same settings enabled, including arc compensation checked) -- this results in a perfect print, no blobs.
So what am I doing wrong here? Or was something changed? Is there a way to update my firmware in the M2? I really want to be able to use the latest versions, but I'm afraid to test more with how much of a head ache that first blob caused with clogging my nozzle pretty bad/many failed prints afterwords...
