Is there a way to directly control the speed of the RAFT creation? None of the available speed settings (other default printing speed, which also controls infill speed) seem to affect it?
Yes, that I was able to figure out. However I'd like to speed up subsequent raft layers to reduce print time. They are usually unnecessarily slow when my default print speed is set to 30mm/sec for example. Thanks!
I am wanting to do this same thing. Has anyone else figured out how to do this.
Even with the 2 separate processes this doesn't work probably because the software still sees the "1st" layer as the raft layer for some reason. It doesn't see the 1st layer of the 2nd process as the 1st layer of the part so it ignores the 1st layer settings.
I have found that I get my best finish on ABS parts by printing 2-3 PLA raft layers and then Printing the ABS on top of that. It sticks well and doesn't warp at all, and once cool, the separate very easily. The only problem is that the raft layers are printing very slow and take a long time on larger prints. I would really like to print the 1st raft layer at 70% speed, and the rest at full speed. Then Slow down for the 1st layer of ABS, then Ramp back up to full speed for the rest of the print. I just can't get this software to do this though.
You can write a REPLACE command that takes the speed you're seeing for the existing raft layers above the first and replaces it with the speed you are wishing to use instead. The ayers of the raft above the first should consistently be printed at the same speed so you shouldn't need to alter this replace command all too often. This is assuming you don't regularly modify the default speed settings in the "Other" tab.
