Seriously? No one else wants this? WOW.
This feature would HUGELY improve thin walls and structurally lower chamfers on ABS prints, in particular -- because without it, the perimeters curl inwards and up. Lowering the extrusion temperature can help ... but usually only at the cost of destroying inter-layer bonding.
I've been doing this manually, all day long today ... especially for the outer two of three shells, from layers 3 to 10 for my particular case.
For ABS, I want the fan off for infill, so as not to weaken the overall structure or cause more than acceptable cooldown warping. That right there is KEY to making this work.
Needs to have the same sort of layer/on/off set-up as temperatures and what not, also. We definitely don't want a fan blasting for all perimeters, all the time.
This would be AWESOME.
