Press fit part success

I was curious about how well a press fit part could work and created the following as a test. It worked beautifully, whereas the version of craftware for craftbot I'd been using was a dead loss on this. The hole/hexagon is 5mm diameter with a 1mm slot, 5mm total height, 3mm post height. I've separated and assembled it quite a few times and it hasn't loosened.

Re: Press fit part success

I've done this a few time now. It usually comes out quite nicely using S3D since it seems to maintain dimensions better than other programs. Sometimes I have to make slight adjustments in the CAD model though to account for clearances.

Nice Job! I'm new to S3D. Wondering if you could share the model file.
Thanks,
Peter
