Often times, I am interested in a feature that occurs later in the print well after the print starts. As a user I would like the ability to see a time display in the preview window, as you "play" each one of the layers it would update with an estimated elapsed time counter. This way I could estimate the time to check back in on my print during the layer of interest.

That's not really very useful, given that the time estimates are so wildly inaccurate. The main reason for that, is that S3D can't properly estimate the real speed of the printer. That depends on the firmware and the firmware settings, which are unknowns to S3D.
