Marvin - The search for the perfect sample

If anyone has some tips on how to do the perfect marvin I am all ears. I have tried with and witout auto supports, but try as I might it is always the top loop that fails.

I need it in ABS @ 0.05mm on an Ultimaker 2.

I am now trying manual placed supports, with a lower speed (down to 30%) with the fan increacing to up to 100% if section is under 10 seconds.
Lets see how this goes

Best one so far.

Adjustments made:
  • lower retraction from 40 to 25 (factory)
  • more loop supports
  • changed max cooling fan from 100% to 80%

Re: Marvin - The search for the perfect sample

That's usually a cooling issue for that tiny hook on the top. Try running at a slightly lower temp, adding more fan cooling, or maybe even slowing the print down some. Also want to make sure you don't have too many retractions, since those bowden tubes won't do well for tiny features if you have lots of big retractions taking place.

So with the adjustments made previously, it has been worse!

But that is still progress.

I will keep the slower speeds and less retraction but will up the fan back to max.
