global offset

Just a quick question.

I have printed alot of PLA the last time with painters blue tape, and wanted to adjust the bed due to the thickness of the tape.

Well I put in 0.4 in the global offset on the Z, and it worked fine, and today I was going to print abs and deleted the 0.4 due to print directly on glass, but, the gap between the nozzle and the bed is now even more than with the global offset =/ ???

In the Jog controll if press the + on the z the z goes down.. So if putting in 0.4 it should be a larger gap between nozzle and bed?

confused...

Re: global offset

Using +0.4 for the global Z-axis offset would shift your entire print 0.4mm further away from the bed. Note: you may still have absolute coordinates in your starting script that won't change, so keep that in mind.

If you're seeing really big changes in the Z-axis positioning, it usually means that your Z-axis endstop/sensor is acting up or moving around on you
