Split and print only a piece
I need to split a model in two pieces printing only the top piece. The Cross Section View allows the Z axis selection but I don't see any way to move the remaining part back down to the bed for printing.

Just double-click on the part and move the section you don't want to print BELOW the build platform. The software will automatically not print anything below the bed, so it's an easy way to cut a model in half and only print one section.

Moving a part of the model below this print bed is a clever workaround, but what about a solution for cutting a model into more than two pieces? I'm not really keen on shelling out a few hundred bucks a year for Netfabb just for this feature. Does anyone know of free/cheaper alternatives?
