[ADDED] Variable width extrusion and multi layers per island

It's a real pain to get a gap in a thin wall to fill. Free, open source programs have solved this issue. Simplify3D should be able to use a thinner/thicker extrusion as necessary to fill gaps in thin sections (as an option). So many models I can print just fine in Cura that just can't be done in S3D. Disappointing.

A feature that would be cool is an ability to print multiple layers on an island before travelling to another island. Printing, say, 2 layers on one island of the job before traversing to another island would already cut stringiness, blobs, etc in half. Printhead geometry on almost any printer should allow for several extra layers to be printed on an island without risk of tool crashes when printing the next island. This would be extremely useful for multi part prints. Parts would print faster and cleaner.

Re: Variable fill extrusion width, and multi layers per isla

Version 4.0 added the ability to use variable extrusion fill for thin walls. The size of the extrusion will be adjusted to perfectly fill the available space on the inside of the thin wall. You can see an example of this at the link below:
https://www.simplify3d.com/software/rel ... ion-4-0-0/

To enable this option, click "Edit Process Settings", go to the Advanced tab, and change the Internal Thin Wall Type to "Allow single extrusion fill". Once this setting has been changed, any thin walls that have small gaps will now be filled with the single extrusion fill.

For the second request, you can also use sequential printing to do the exact sequence you are describing. It will print a few layers of one model before moving to the next one. There is a great article about how to do this at the link below:
