I have a Duplicator 4S and it has a fairly common build volume. 200x150x150mm
It be nice to have the ability to print any model beyond this volume and have the software break it up in to smaller chunks and keep track of the volume grid. So as a printer I know that number 1 & 2 & 3 of 20 all fit together..
Ive only read about netfab being able to do this. and I have gone in to 3d programs and sliced them to fit. but it would be a great feature to take a lego sized figure and make it 6ft tall and have it all spliced and numbers so all I have to do is make the prints. (I do not really want to make a life sized lego figure just using that example to get my point across but now I kinda want to.. )

Along with that, also add cutting functionality (preferably by having the user select 3 points to define the cutting plane). I desperately need this feature. Moving the model below the print bed doesn't cut it (pardon the pun) because I frequently need to cut my models into more than two pieces.

Re: splice models beyond print volume size.
I frequently use the feature in S3D to print large models with 4 or 5 different cuts, so it's definitely possible right now. You just use the bed as a cutting plane and then enable the "stop printing at height" option on the Advanced tab to handle the second cutting plane. So for a large 500mm tall model, I would do this
1) place the bottom of the model on the bed, enable stop printing at 100mm height - this prints the first 100mm of the model
2) drop the model 100mm below the bed, leave the stop printing at 100mm option enabled - this prints the second 100mm section of the model
and so on to print sections 3, 4, and 5
Just a tip since I use this quite often to prints parts that are much larger than my printer's build volume
