[FIXED] Prime pillar issues on v4.0

1) Prime pillar and tool change have a serious issues

Try the include file here , on V4.0 and V3.1 , and look in the preview , the last layer
On V4 the last layer of pillar is green , and on V3.1 is blue

The V4.0 have big problem of building the prime pillar and the tool change process

The last layer is made , but
On a singlenozzle , the hotend not purged and yours perimeters have the second color
On a multi nozzle , the perimeters are not printed during the time the retraction distance is raised

Please Make a fix

2-) on the first layer , and on the first tool change , The PRIME PILLAR is not made first , the software print the object before to purge the nozzle by printing the prime pillar first
Results , the first layer of the object is dead because of the extruder not ready

Please it's an emergency

Thks

Re: Prime pillar issues on v4.0

I am also facing the second issue and same factory file is working well on S3D V3.
The second object should be printed after T1 printing prime pillar at first layer above Raft.
But it actually print object first then print prime pillar.

Re: Prime pillar issues on v4.0

Hello Support,

This is a SERIOUS issue and a surprising mistake. This completely defeats the purpose of a prime pillar and the fact that this has not been fixed since August is shocking. I need a fix for this NOW!!!!

And once the fix is made please add this to your unit testing suite so it never happens again. I have no reasonable workaround and need to get dual extruder prints to work.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Prime pillar issues on v4.0

i dont understand your issue. i use dual extrusion with prime pillar and single nozzle. the part prints then the prime tower, because you should be purging your filament before starting the print. what my printer does is it starts with the second extruder primed (my end gcode primes the second extruder after a print finshes). it homes to 0 then moves in a bit to prime the nozzle by retracting the second extruder and then extruding the first extruder while wiping a 100mm line across the front of my bed. then skirts or brims are printed and then the part starts. after the initial color finishes then it moves up changes filament and moves to the prime pillar where it extrudes a 25mm square and successfully purges the previous color. then it moves back to the part and comnpletes the second color. then it moves up and does the second color, moves up, changes filament, prime pillar, etc. its working as i should. seems like you are the only one with your particular issue

Re: Prime pillar issues on v4.0

I am happy to say this issue has now been resolved in Version 4.0.1. The factory file included at the top of this thread now slices correctly in version 4.0.1 with the correct prime pillar sequence for the first and layer layer.

Thank you for reporting the issue!
