COM port and baudrate persistence

The Machine Control panel does not remember COM ports and Baudrates across sessions. This would be very handy to have. Even better, in the machine settings page under processes edit, each saved machine should be able to have its own settings specified. This would be useful for those of us who have s...

Re: Extraneous retraction command at beginning of print file

Thanks for the quick reply, rrdavis. Of course, your explanation makes complete sense...hadn't thought about the open space issue; too bad that, in this case, it defeats the effect of the initial purge/prime. Since many users have their startup scripts perform the prime/wipe sequence to prepare the ...

Extraneous retraction command at beginning of print file

On my QIDI Tech 1 and X-pro printers, the startup scripts finish by extruding a line of filament along the front edge and then wiping the ooze from the nozzle before the actual model-related gcode begins to execute. For some reason, S3D is inserting a retraction command as the first model-related gc...

Re: Qidi X-Pro Amazon review with potentially useful setting

Meanwhile, the S3D customer service guy emailed me the official Qidi X-Pro profile, which is attached here. Chase I downloaded the file and loaded the profile into S3D on my Mac...worked fantastically! The prints I am getting with it using a roll of the qidi-supplied PLA are significantly better th...

Re: Display layer in "Preview by Line"

To add to tenaja's request, I would like to have the ability to post the current layer number as layer_num of num_layers to the printer display. This would probably be done with an M117 command at each layer change. This is useful to know when an error occurs in the gcode and to have an idea of wher...

Re: strange extrusions on non-printing moves

It does look like stringing, but much heavier than I am used to seeing. The material is PLA at 195°, bed at 60° (at the point the stringing was happening). I happened only when printing the tentacles where the infill moves were quite short. Once the print got to the body region, there were on the ni...

strange extrusions on non-printing moves

I just purchased S3D today and am already very happy with it. I did have a problem with unwanted extrusions when the hotness moved to a different section of a large print. The attached photo shows what I am talking about. These lines seem to have disappeared round about the 4th layer, and haven reoc...
