Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

Everything is working exactly like I would expect as far as I can see... The skirt speed is properly slowed down by the "first layer speed" setting. For example if you set that to 100% and then to 50%, you can look in the gcode yourself to see that the F-values (i.e. the speed) for the skirt is halved.

The raft is always printed slower by default, so no surprise that it's going to be printing slower than everything else.

Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

I don't see any real change in skirt speed or normal print. Support guys are investigating.

Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

It definitely changes when you adjust the first layer speed. Just open the gcode file in a text editor and look at the F-values. They are different, no question about it.

So at that point, the software has told the printer to go slower, and it's up to the firmware to handle things from there.

But every test I can do shows the software is doing what it should.

Can you make a video of raft printing vs skirt printing?

Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

I can also confirm that the gcode files are correct. Pavel - if you don't agree, please attach your gcode files and factory file to this thread. Open up the gcode file and tell us the exact lines where you think the F-values for the skirt are not changing. Seriously, it should be pretty easy to see by opening the gcode files in a text editor. It's very easy to confirm that the software is working correctly in this regard.

They are already attached. See history.

Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

The skirt and/or brim and the raft first layer WILL obey the First Layer Speed irrespective of what you think you are observing.

Whatever you do, don't look at the skirt/brim printing speed (when you're not printing a raft) and compare it with the solid infill printed immediately after it. The infill obeys two parameters....the First Layer Speed (as a percentage of the default print speed) and the then the Infill Underspeed (as a percentage of the First Layer Speed for the first layer...or a percentage of the default speed for the rest of the print).

Apples also fall up. Irrespective of what I am observing.

Can you make a video of that? ;)

Sarcasm to one side (please do remember, like others, I'm trying to help you!!!).......what you are observing is all of the first layer printing at whatever percentage you set the First Layer Speed to...except for the solid infill, which is printing even slower....at the Infill Underspeed percentage of the print speed of the rest of the layer. The net result is that it looks as if the skirt/brim/raft and perimeters are printing faster than the rest of the layer.....and you are mistakenly thinking they are not following the First Layer speed.

Re: How to change skirt/brim printing speed

Raft is printing slow.

Skirt/brim/perimeter is printing faster.

I would like to slow everything down. Problem is that I have sharp corners in model and sometimes they don't stick. Basically corner point doesn't stick on fast speed as it gets dragged by ray which is printed from the corner point.

Raft on the other hand prints just fine. You can check videos.

I tried painter tape/heated bed/both at the same time.
