Re: New S3D thinks my stl files are XYZ files

Just looked at my firmware and there's nothing about Davinci" or "XYZ" or any kind of machine or file ID anywhere.

All I'm saying is change the field to gcode (and remove the previously ref'd script in the process if you have one).
Of course, you could look in field pull-down to see if your printer is there....... otherwise set it for gcode.
Sure, it's a bug...

I guess I don't understand what you're saying.
Change what field to "gcode"
Where is this "field", in MArlin? Simplify3d?
Where is the "pull-down" you refer to? in Simplify3d?

Re: New S3D thinks my stl files are XYZ files

Assuming you the followed the setup instructions and input your printer type/etc (if you didn't, review it - see Help).
If there is no bug, and you input your Marlin printer, you should not see message regarding XYZ brand stl .3w

The field I refer to is in the process panel which should have options related to' your machine.' For mine, they are (below)...

Double click on a Process, it will open the Process panel, select Advanced, select the Scripts tab - that's where it's located on S3d for mac.

Ok, now I see what you are saying. I just created a new profile and it works perfect. The old profile had the "export format" as gcode already but for some reason it still gave the error. The new profile works like a charm. Thanks for your help.

This issue was never really solved by the way. My workaround was to create a new profile. It doesnt explain why S3D was seeing STL files as the XYZ files.

Read this post: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5434#p23533

XYZware is adding the file associations and apparently doesn't remove them properly.
