Had a little issue and replaced my fang setup on my CR10 S5...now PLA wont stick to either glass nor PEI. Initial test line prints proper but when the brim starts...wont stick. I may have change a settings in the S3D profile while trying to setup for a litho profile...but cant seem to figure it out. Just need eyes to validate I didnt over look anything and to rule out S3D profile which is causing this event.

By default I print PLA @ 60/210 flawless for most all the PLA I use. In light of this recent issue, I have tried:


Print on my <non-stock> 6mm Glass directly
Print on my <default> 6mm glass and PEI
Bed temps from 50-70
Extruder temps from 195-230

Nothing sticks after the initial line my code makes.

The usual cause of this is the nozzle not being close enough to the bed.

Adjust the Global-Z field in a negative direction (it will go negative!!) by half a layer thickness and try printing. If it sticks, check the underside is smooth and doesn't show the extrusion lines. If not, or the print still doesn't stick, repeat the adjustment and try again.

If you go too far, the nozzle will virtually stop printing....and you'll need to back off.

Once you get nearer the optimum position, adjust by smaller amounts. Once you hit the optimum, apply the Global-Z offset to all your profiles.

On the CR10, you can adjust the babystep on the fly. I adjusted it while it was priming to get a proper layer. During the brim or an actual print...tried many times, no adjustment will yield layers to be laid down. I have been printing for many years and am at a loss on this one. Hence the reason why I question the setting in the profile now. I have tried many different temps for bed/hotend, striaght glass, glass and PEI...its just very odd that the prime will print proper but nothing else. Hell, i now even have marks on my PEI from adjusting down a bit too low to get a nice squish. I have also off centered the print job to rule out any specific "worn" area or my PEI as well. Did you happen to load my profile and see anything set wrong? I was making a litho profile the other day and may have made a setting that is causing this...at a loss this moment.

I adjusted the babystep to get the proper prime line...but then get the provided layer pic...not a solid/fluid layer.

I am not positive for you on this but on my printer at least, the prime line height and the actual part first layer height are going to be different.

I have had times when the prime line was fine but on the part the nozzle went to close to the bed or it has also been to far from it.

I think I would focus on settings for the actual part and not necessarily the prime line.
