New to S3D, needs some assistance.

Just purchased the program and cant figure out how to change a few things.

Im Using a Makerbot rep 2x, current sailfish firmware with the bottleworks Almn build arms and glass build plate. All prints are in ABS

Is there a way to change the amount of purge material that is extruded at the start of a print.

When the extruder begins to start the print, Im getting what looks like dots and then a solid shell line...Id say it takes about 10-15mm to actually get going. At first I thought it may have been an extruder issue so I tore it apart and gave everything a good cleaning....same issue happened again. Ran the part from makerware and problem was gone. What setting would resolve this issue?

Thank You

There are probably several things that could cause this, but when I have experienced it, it is usually when I have the bed way too close to the nozzle. It could also be that Simplify3D starts the print at some point before the nozzle fully heats up. I believe it is in the starting G-Code to start the print at 200C. If your actual heat is a little off from the sensor, your filament may not be getting hot enough yet to flow smoothly and then you notice it gets better after a short time as it gets up to temp.

I'd look at those two things to see if they are the issue.

Also, S3D seems to do a retraction at the beginning of the print, so if you have high retraction settings it will "unprime" the hot end before printing starts. I don't think you can really compensate for this because it happens after the start GCode section is run. I just always use a skirt of 2-3 loops in every print to make sure the hot end is fully primed before printing actually starts.
