XYZPrinting Da Vinci Duo 2.0A failing?

I recently purchased a Da Vinci Duo 2.0A because a friend has one of the juniors and likes he. He failed to mention how absolutely terrible the software for it is.

Simplify3D seems like the logical choice and appears to be awesome. It slices the meshes I have loaded FAR better than XYZ's software. (Seriously it's not even close..)

However, I can't seem to print from Simplify3D. It uploads to the printer like you'd expect and the printer says it's receiving a job, but after the upload is done Simplify3D pop's a dialog asking me if I'm sure I want to change the toolpath mid print. [Yes] or [No]

Either answer causes the job to stop. The printer acts like nothing has happened or that the job was cancelled and Simplify3D is back to where it was before I pushed the send to printer button but the send to printer button is now grayed out and I have to restart it to bring it back.

Exporting the model as GCode and then importing into XYZ's software says that the gcode was made for the wrong printer.

I'm at a loss. I have this machine, and I can't seem to use the darn thing. I have printed the test print that comes with it, and that worked fine. But that's it.

I have Da Vinci Duo 2.0a selected in Simplify3D. But maybe somethings not configured correctly?

I'm kinda frustrated and not sure how to proceed. Thoughts?

Re: XYZPrinting Da Vinci Duo 2.0A failing?

I've never had to do anything but use the stock da Vinci 2.0 profile that's already included in S3D. Are you sure you're using that stock profile from the config assistant? You can go back to Help > Configuration Assistant if you want to download it again (it will show up at the bottom of the profile list called something like "Da Vinci 2.0(2)", where the (2) means it's a second copy of that profile)

Re: XYZPrinting Da Vinci Duo 2.0A failing?

Having Simular issues it seems the XYZPrinting Da Vinci Duo 2.0A settings are not right
last time I attempted to use simplify3d was Simplify3D-2.2.2 in 2015 , issue being it kept crashing

The max print height of the 2.0A should be 150mm and it seems to be programmed as 200mm in the config file

first thing mine did was grind the heads along the glass table then drop off the corner and start grinding away while trying to drive the head for printing that has now dropped in front of the table ...

this was a fully calibrated system , I just thought I would see how Simplify3D would be going as my other program has had no other updates for a few years ...

also finding it silly to have to be online to get printer profiles ...

Re: XYZPrinting Da Vinci Duo 2.0A failing?

The stock profile fits my 2.0 just fine. I can confirm that I have 200mm of space in Z and only a little over 150mm in X. If you'd like to share your factory file thats making your machine crash I'd be more than happy to give them a test run on my machine. I've got some extra time later this week. :D
