Re: More settings for Top Layer only for better top finish

This is exactly why I have been whining about this issue for about two years now. I am sure that everybody rolls their eyes and groans every time I post but this is such a fundamental thing, I feel compelled to keep droning on about it until it is fixed.

Re: Visual Defects/Artifacts on Flat Layer

Yet another person requesting the ability to expand skins that lie under other features so that the completely unnecessary area of infill goes away. Why don't S3D fix this ridiculous defect?

Re: Surface printed on top of infill issue

I don't care if they ban me, as long as I can shame them into fixing this idiotic deficiency, then I will consider it well worthwhile.

Re: Surface printed on top of infill issue

Yet another person gets bitten by the "not extending skins far enough into the infill" bug that the S3D devs have known about for coming on for two years now. People say that the devs read these messages, I don't think there's anyone there at all.

Re: Solid layer fill behavior causes difference in coloratio

You can find this idea and some other good stuff here... http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/30-getting-better-prints It's aimed at Ultimaker 2 users but a lot of it is generic and can be applied to any printer. Colour variation in the vertical direction also occurs when perimeters are printed at d...

Re: Solid layer fill behavior causes difference in coloratio

Hi, I don't believe there is a setting to do what you are asking. One way to overcome the problem is to cover the holes with a single layer of skin, i.e. make the holes stop before they reach the surface. If you do that, the surface will be printed without interruptions and then when the print is fi...

I can't understand why S3D doesn't fix this glaring deficiency which has been a source of aggravation for years.

Re: Ends on long piece lifting?

Have you tried blue painter's tape wiped with isopropyl alcohol (IPA)?

I get very good adhesion of PLA even for long thin parts using tape and IPA on a heated bed.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Better time estimates - current ones are 30% too optimis

However, for my Kossell Mini, the time estimates are pretty good, if anything, slightly pessimistic. I guess it's very much a case of YMMV.

Re: Print Speed for Skirt, Skirt under Support

Regarding the skirt, I have noticed that if you take the gcode that s3d produces and print it on the same printer using octoprint on a pi then the skirt is printed in a jerky fashion compared to how it is printed when s3d is driving the printer directly. The rest of the print gets printed smoothly. ...
